Price from your Reels views
Followers are a rough guide; Reels views tell a brand what they’ll actually get. Take the average views of your last 10 to 15 Reels (leave out one-off viral hits) and apply a CPM:
- Reels: $15 to $45 per 1,000 views
- Stories: $20 to $50 per 1,000 Story views
(Modash). Example: 12,000 average Reel views at a $25 CPM = $300 a Reel.
Our calculator uses the same method as Brand Deals HQ. Its Instagram figures work from followers, so check them against your Reels views:
How each format compares
- Reels: the main event for most brands, because Reels reach non-followers. Usually your highest-priced format.
- Carousels: strong for tutorials and product comparisons, and they get saved. Often a little above a single image.
- Feed photos: less reach than Reels for most accounts, so usually priced lower than a Reel.
- Stories: cheaper per frame, but they drive link clicks. Sell them in sets of 3 to 5 with a link sticker.
- Collab posts: the post appears on both your profile and the brand’s. That’s extra exposure for the brand, so price it like a Reel, not a discount.
- Lives: price by the hour, plus prep.
Bundles brands like to buy
Packages make it easy for a brand to say yes and raise your average order:
| Package | What’s in it |
|---|---|
| Starter | 1 Reel |
| Launch | 1 Reel + 3 Stories with link |
| Always-on | 2 Reels + 6 Stories a month, 3-month minimum |
Price a bundle 10% to 20% below the sum of its parts. Put your packages on your media kit, and highlight the one you want to sell (only label it “most popular” if it really is).

Brands often want to run your Reel as an ad through your handle (Instagram partnership ads, also called whitelisting). That puts your content in front of far more people than your organic post, so charge for it:
- 20% to 50% of your base fee per month of ad use is the common range (Influencer Marketing Hub, Later).
- Agree the length (30, 60 or 90 days) and use Instagram’s own partnership tools: never share your password.

Engagement benchmarks for Instagram
Brands compare your engagement with typical numbers for your size. HypeAuditor’s 2026 data put Instagram creators under 10,000 followers at about 1.8% and 10K to 50K at about 0.5% (engagement by followers) (eMarketer). Brand accounts are lower: Socialinsider measured 0.45% in mid-2026 (Socialinsider). If you’re well above the typical number for your size, use that to justify a higher rate. Check yours with the engagement rate calculator.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for an Instagram post with 10K followers?
Around $100 (£80) for a feed post is a common per-follower starting point; a Reel is often $120 to $300 at that size, depending on your Reel views and engagement. Use average views for the final number.
How much do Instagram influencers make per Reel?
It ranges from about $50 for nano creators to $25,000+ for accounts with over a million followers. On Collabstr, the average Reel deal was $288 in 2024.
Should Stories be cheaper than Reels?
Usually, per piece: Stories are typically priced around half of a post, but sold in sets of three to five with a link, they can be very good value for a brand that wants clicks.
Do I charge extra for Instagram partnership ads?
Yes. Running your content as an ad is paid usage, commonly 20% to 50% of your base fee per month. Agree the period in writing.
What’s a good engagement rate on Instagram?
It depends on your size and how it’s calculated. By followers, under 10K accounts averaged about 1.8% in 2026 and larger accounts well under 1%. Compare yourself with creators of a similar size.
