X Original Content Rewards: requirements and how it pays (2026)
X ended Creator Revenue Sharing on 7 September 2026 and replaced it with Original Content Rewards. To qualify you need an X Premium subscription, 500 verified followers and 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days, and you must be 18+ in an eligible country such as the UK or US. Pay is based on qualified impressions of original posts, with a $30 minimum payout every two weeks.

Requirements
- Subscription: X Premium, Premium+ or Premium Business.
- Impressions: 500,000 Home timeline impressions from verified users in the last 90 days. Replies don’t count.
- Followers: 500 verified followers.
- Age and location: 18+, based in an eligible country (the UK and US are included).
- Account: a personal or business account in good standing.
- Content: original posts.
How it pays
Payments are based on qualified impressions: unique views of your original posts by Premium users, with at least half the post visible on screen. The minimum payout is $30, paid every two weeks. Outside the US, X verifies your identity through Stripe; in the US, payouts go to an X Money account.
What doesn’t count
- Copied posts and reposts of other people’s content.
- Edits that only add a filter, change speed or add a text overlay.
- Aggregation accounts that collect others’ posts.
- Content taken from other platforms and reposted by someone other than the original creator.
- Engagement bait (“like if you agree”): repeatedly asking people to engage can get you removed from the programme.
In May 2026, X also shifted impressions from aggregator accounts to original authors, so original content helps both reach and earnings.
How to reach the thresholds
- Post original takes daily in a clear niche.
- Reply thoughtfully to bigger accounts to get discovered (replies don’t count towards the impressions threshold, but they bring followers).
- Use long posts and native video to increase dwell time.
- Build verified followers by engaging with Premium users in your niche.

Subscriptions on X
X also lets creators offer paid subscriptions, and says creators keep up to about 97% of revenue. Check eligibility in your X settings (X Help).
