Facebook monetisation in 2026: Content Monetization, Fast Track and Stars

Updated 10 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the Growth Club team

Facebook pays creators through Content Monetization (performance-based pay for Reels, photos, text posts and stories, still invite-only in 2026), Creator Fast Track (three months of set payments for accepted creators with 20,000+ followers elsewhere who start posting Reels on Facebook), the US Breakthrough bonus, Stars and subscriptions. All of them reward original content: accounts that repost others’ content can be demonetised. Here are the requirements as of October 2026.

Content Monetization

Facebook’s main programme pays you based on the performance of your Reels, photos, text posts and stories. It’s still invite-only, with Meta saying it plans to offer open enrolment “in the near future”. You can register interest in the Professional dashboard under Monetisation, then Content Monetisation (Meta for Creators).

Creator Fast Track

For creators who are established on another platform and new to Facebook Reels:

  • Where: US, Canada, UK and Australia.
  • Who: 18+, with a Facebook Page (account at least 30 days old) and no Facebook Reel posted in the last 6 months.
  • Audience: 20,000+ followers on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, and at least 30,000 video views there in the last 60 days.
  • Deal: what Meta calls a guaranteed monthly payment for 3 months, if you’re accepted and post 15 eligible Reels a month on at least 10 different days: $100 to $450 a month for 20,000 to 99,999 followers (Meta sets the amount from its review of your social presence), $1,000 for 100,000 to 999,999, and $3,000 for 1 million+. It also gives access to Content Monetization.

Breakthrough bonus (US only)

US creators aged 18+ with an Instagram professional account, a Facebook Page and a linked account on another social app (creators with 20,000+ followers get priority) may earn up to $5,000 in bonuses over their first 90 days if accepted, with Meta setting the amount (Meta for Creators).

Stars

Viewers send Stars during Lives, on Reels and videos. You need 500 followers for 30 consecutive days, and Meta pays $0.01 per Star (Meta for Creators).

Subscriptions

Fans pay monthly for exclusive content. Requirements: 10,000 followers or 250 return viewers, plus 50,000 post engagements or 180,000 watch minutes in the last 60 days. Available in the UK and US (Meta for Creators).

Brand deals on Facebook

Brands also pay creators directly for sponsored content on Facebook, and Meta’s creator marketplace connects brands with Instagram and Facebook creators. Use the paid partnership label and disclose clearly (#ad rules).

Keep it original

Meta says it prioritises original content and that accounts that repeatedly post unoriginal content (re-uploads, reaction clips, compilations, edits that only add borders, captions or speed changes) can be deemed “non-recommendable and demonetized” (Meta). Post your own videos, without other apps’ watermarks. See how to grow on Facebook.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get monetised on Facebook in 2026?

Use a Page or professional mode, post original Reels and content, and register interest in Content Monetization, which is still invite-only. If you have 20,000+ followers elsewhere and haven’t posted Facebook Reels recently, apply for Creator Fast Track.

How many followers do you need to make money on Facebook?

500 followers for 30 days to receive Stars, and 10,000 followers (or 250 return viewers) plus engagement requirements for subscriptions. Content Monetization is by invitation.

How much does Facebook pay for Reels?

Content Monetization pays on performance and Meta doesn’t publish fixed rates. Creator Fast Track pays accepted creators $100 to $3,000 a month for three months if they post the required Reels, depending on their audience elsewhere.

Is Facebook Creator Fast Track available in the UK?

Yes. As of October 2026 it’s open in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.
