UGC rates in 2026: how much to charge for UGC videos

Updated 10 October 2026 · 3 min read · By the Growth Club team

Most UGC creators charge per video, then add fees for usage rights, extra hooks, raw footage and rush delivery. In 2026, marketplace averages sit around $150 to $200 for a single video: beginners often start around $100, mid-level creators charge $150 to $500, and experienced creators $500 or more before licensing. Usage rights are where the money is: 30% to 50% of the base price is common for paid ad use.

  • Collabstr (21,000+ collaborations, 2025): the average UGC package was priced at $180, the average final payout $154 and the average UGC campaign $197, down 5.7% on the year before (Collabstr 2026 report).
  • By experience: entry level $50 to $100, mid level $150 to $500, established $500+ before licensing (Billo, citing UGC101).

Adjust the numbers to your experience and niche. Beauty, tech and finance UGC can support higher prices; very simple B-roll can be lower. Finance ads have extra rules: in the UK, promoting most investments, crypto or credit without approval from an FCA-authorised firm can be a criminal offence, so stick to the brand’s approved wording.

How to decide your rate

  1. Start in the market range for your experience: about $100 to $150 a video if you’re new with a solid portfolio.
  2. Raise it after every 3 to 5 clients, or when brands rebook you.
  3. Charge more for complex work: scripts, locations, multiple people, styled sets.
  4. Always price usage separately, so a brand that wants to run your video in ads for 6 months pays more than one that posts it once.
  5. Show results (lower cost per click, higher click-through rates) once brands share them and agree you can use them, and price up accordingly.

Usage rights: don’t give them away

UGC is made to be used in ads, so usage is the core of the deal. Agree:

  • Where: organic social, paid social, website, email, TV.
  • How long: 30, 90 days or 12 months. Avoid “perpetual” unless it’s a buyout.
  • Whitelisting: whether the ad runs through your account (that’s extra). Give access through the platform’s own ad tools, never your password, and agree an end date.

Frequently asked questions

How much should a beginner UGC creator charge?

Around $50 to $150 per video is common for beginners, with $100 a sensible starting point if your portfolio is strong. Price usage rights separately from day one.

How much do UGC creators make per video?

Marketplace averages sit around $150 to $200 per video. Experienced creators charge $500 or more, and usage rights can add 30% to 50%.

Do UGC creators charge for usage rights?

Yes. Paid usage is commonly 30% to 50% of the base fee, usually for a set period such as 30 or 90 days. A buyout costs much more.

Should I offer UGC packages?

Yes. Bundles of three or five videos with extra hooks make it easy for brands to test, and a 15% to 25% bundle discount still raises your average order.

Why are UGC rates lower than influencer rates?

Often they aren’t, once usage is included. A UGC video’s base price covers production only; the brand provides the reach through ads, which is why usage rights matter so much.
